3. Your Third Visit, what to expect.
Your First Visit
Our goal is to serve you in the best way we possibly can. During your first visit, we want to make sure that we accurately examine you, and answer any questions you have about NUCCA chiropractic. When you arrive at the office you will be guided through the following:
A Short Tour of Balanced Living Chiropractic – We strive to make you feel at home from the moment you first walk into the office. You will be taken on a short tour of the office to orient you to the rooms, technology, and amenities of the office.
Health History Form – You will be asked to fill out this FORM if you have not done so already. Information is collected to allow the doctor to determine how to best take care of you. If you have any questions regarding the Health History FORM, the staff will be happy to assist you.
(If this FORM was sent to you through the mail, or given to you at an outside event, please bring it with you on your first visit to the office).
Consultation – The doctor will meet with you to discuss your health problems and determine how to best help you.
Chiropractic Examination – We conduct an in-depth chiropractic examination to determine if you have an Atlas Subluxation and get a base-line complete look at your condition along with overall health.
Your posture will also be evaluated through a procedure called a supine leg check. It will be determined if muscles are contracting more on one side of the body compared to the other causing one leg to appear shorter.
At this point the doctor will inform you whether or not you are a candidate for care. If you decide to correct the problem found, further examination would then be required which consists of specific upper cervical x-rays.
X-ray Analysis – X-rays are taken to determine exactly how the spine has misaligned, so it can be corrected with the least amount of force. The misalignment and correction needed is unique and specific for each individual patient.
The doctor will review, examine and analyze the information gathered on this visit to determine how to best take care of you.
Checkout – The chiropractic assistant will schedule you for your second visit which is ideally within the next couple of days after the first.
Your Second Visit
The goal of this visit is to inform you on what the doctor found and give you the first chiropractic adjustment. You will be guided through the following steps:
Chiropractic Report – The doctor will sit down with you and go over your x-rays bone-by-bone, explaining the findings.
Specific Chiropractic Adjustment – You will then receive your first upper cervical correction. Math and physics are used to analyze our specific x-rays. This allows the doctor to use a force so gentle that most people hardly feel more than a slight pressure just behind the ear. There will be no twisting, popping, or cracking of the spine.
Postural Check – Another supine leg check is performed to determine the changes the adjustment has made.
Relaxation Room – You will be asked to relax the body in a recovery room for a period of time after the correction. This is to help reduce the chances of immediately losing the correction made.
Post X-rays – We will then take a second set of x-rays, and compare them with your first set. This will allow the doctor to objectively determine the effect of the adjustment made.
Your Third Visit
Explanation of Post X-rays – The doctor will review findings

It allows questions to be answered to everyone’s satisfaction.
Instruction packet and Follow-up Visits – You will receive instructions explaining how to best protect and maintain your new correction. You will also reserve your follow-up appointments, so please remember to bring your calendar.
